Ready or Not, still not sure about the title, is with my editor now. I love Debbie Nygaard. She knows my books, all of them. I trust her, and she supports my vision. I'm grateful to have her. I'm playing with ideas for the next book in the series, but I'm trying to figure out what the conflict will be. We'll talk more about that later. Just in case you were wondering, the BL shows are going nicely. Can't wait to share those with you. If you have some you like, please feel free to share. The year's winding down. My son will graduate soon. We're still wondering what his plans will be. He makes me nervous every time we talk about the future. And I have Tiktok videos I made myself to share. Hope you like!

And Away It Went

Ready or Not has some excellent thoughts from the betas, along with a few suggestions. They were exactly what I needed. Character name mispelled, observations about the parent in the book. Any items that took them out of reading, such as using OTT. Ya'll, I'm 52 years old. Why am I using OTT, which means Over the Top, by the way? There were concerns from one beta about the use of the word "hole". Yeah, she's new to MM. It's okay. Keeping hole. Other than that, she loved the book. My beta, who's not new to this genre, noticed the name changes, the parent observation, but also had this to say:

The book is awesome. I see so much growth in your writing!! I'm impressed and proud of you!!!

And...

The only issue is the time and space between books. But I'm greedy

Now, I've been writing for about ten years. Her words meant everything to me. So, at this time, I'm waiting to hear what Debbie thinks. Not only will I be low-key freaking out, but I'm also planning for the next book. Both books are from the Children of the Sun series.

Need the blurb? Let me find it around here somewhere.

A traveling nurse who doesn’t mind a little fun. A griffin who’s not playing around.

Gentry Red Redmond gave up on finding a mate. It turns out the one he needed just didn’t come in the package he was used to hunting.

Sebastian Del Marco, a traveling nurse, wants to be loved, but he’s afraid to trust. Instead of relationships, he’s been willing to accept just having fun.

Once Red realizes Sebastian is just the mate he needs, can he convince Sebastian to take a chance on love?

The War Within

The new book? It focuses on a character from Ready or Not. I use Scrivener to help me plan books. It's where I keep my outlines, character development, and research information. I've been using Scrivener for about ten years. I knew then my ADHD brain needed a way to organize my writing. Organization is how I survive. I looked for options and found Scrivener to be the best available at that time. Maybe there's something better out there now. Don't care. This has worked for me, so unless they quit, I'm with them. Interested? Here's the link. (Click on image below.)

Need more, a review or an article? (Click image below.)

This has a list of the best writing software available, and guess who's on the list? Scrivener! I'm not going anywhere.

Anyway, there goes the ADHD. I've been told that I'm actually AuDHD, but I'm old, so I didn't get diagnosed. I've lived with it this long now and have my survival skills toolbox locked and loaded. You just come along for the ride, okay? :) I'll do my best not to scare you away.

So, back to the book. Any book you write needs to have a conflict. Looking at all these articles to share with you about types of conflicts is taking me back to when I was in school, and I'm a former English teacher. I can't do it. Feel free to look at my search link, packed full of articles, because nope. (Click image below.)

I'm playing with thoughts of what the conflict should be. I don't think I need a bad guy for this book, a stalker, or some unseen foe. I'm really thinking this needs to be about the MC (main character) trying to accept that someone can love them for who they are, whatever form taken. And the other person has some growing he needs to do. They need to overcome that. Now, the only thing is I'll have that idea, map everything out, and something somewhere will change. But, no matter what, I started out with a plan. Outliner, then pantser (planner, then off-the-cuff). That's who I am. After ten years, I'm learning to accept myself as a person and as a writer. There's the growth.

I'll keep you posted on the conflict. Can't wait to share Ready or Not with you, too.

Oh, My Goodness! Give Me All the BL - Boy Love Shows!

Okay, so last blog, I was just trying out BL shows. Why didn't y'all tell me how amazing these things are? First of all, I loved The Battle of the Writers. So sweet. My favorite, though? KinnPorsche! You have to watch this. Addicted. These two have taken residence in my soul.

My current viewing list is

  1. Yesterday

Insane, people. Insane.

  1. Bed Friends

    Angsty

  2. Abo Desire

Let's hear it for powerful Omegas!

  3. Sammy's Children's Day

Still deciding. Brutal.

  1. Pit Babe The Series

Haven't started yet, but I've seen so many videos about these two.

Family Time

I don't have much here. My eighteen-year-old is graduating soon. I'm terrified. What can I do? He has to make his own choices, and this is so hard for me. I want to help. He wants to be an adult. I have to step back and let him. You know, I'm a school counselor. I talk to kids all the time, but when it's your own? Deep breaths.

As for my daughter, she's finding herself. She keeps telling me she has three years, and she's going, too. She's so ready for her future. Ya'll pray for me. I need it. Glad I have my hubby. He's my rock during all of this. The only thing I can do is remain calm (outwardly) and support them.

Let the Movies Begin!

I finished the videos for The Broken Series. Now, I'm working on my Merman series Men of Neptune. (Warning. This is my Mpreg series. So not only are they mermen, they're having babies!)

The first one is Song of the Siren

The second one is The Guardian's Prize

That's it for me, folks. I wish you happy reading. I'd love to hear from you.

Love,

Deja
